The Accounting Clerk I position involves cash accounting, administrative tasks, and customer service responsibilities, including data entry, handling inquiries, and maintaining records.
Responsibilities
- Performing data entry
- Handling customer/vendor inquiries
- Maintaining records
- Assist with improvement processes to create more job efficiency
- Data entry of all payments coming into BTIS daily
- Mailing of commission checks
- Answering phones and directing customers to the appropriate department
- Assisting customers as needed
Skills
- Prior office experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence handling agency and customer interactions
- A customer service mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support
- Ability to review policy and account information, identify potential issues, and take appropriate action
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based systems, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and navigate multiple systems
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues with equipment such as headsets, internet connectivity, or system access
- Must type 40 words per minute
