New Jersey Courts is seeking an adaptable candidate for the position of Attorney Support (Judiciary Secretary 1) to provide support to multiple litigation attorneys. The role involves managing caseloads, conducting complex financial investigations, and assisting attorneys in preparation for court events while maintaining organized records. Responsibilities - Review, process, distribute, and upload incoming mail for assigned attorneys - Examine received documents for adherence to applicable procedures, laws and regulations - Draft and prepare accurately typed routine, and non-routine, legal documents for assigned attorneys - Manage the calendar of assigned attorneys by scheduling and confirming appointments based upon the availability - Assist assigned attorneys, and members of investigative team, with preparing for interviews, hearings, trials and other court events - Maintain a high standard of personal organization with own tickler system - Maintain organized electronic and paper files for efficient retrieval of records - Respond timely to inquiries from attorneys, committee members, staff members and the public - Daily use of OAE Ethics System - InfoShare, CAMS and other Judiciary interfaces - Timely entering and uploading documents, including scanning of case files and related correspondence, into the OAE Ethics System - InfoShare - Daily use of MS Word and Adobe - Effectively redacting case files consistent with Court Rules and OAE policies - Accurately prepare for transmitting case files to the Disciplinary Review Board and Supreme Court - Take appropriate action as directed and other duties as assigned Skills - One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include typing, secretarial and administrative clerical work - Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed - Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one year of the experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods and procedures - Certification of successful completion of the Civil Service Commission, Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) Support Specialist Program may be substituted for six months of the required experience - Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position - Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position - Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations - Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
