Position Overview
The Commercial Lines Team Lead is a leadership-oriented, hands-on role responsible for managing a growing book of commercial insurance business and supervising a team to deliver exceptional service to clients. This individual thrives on challenge, navigates ambiguity with confidence, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to support clients and help grow the department.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Book of Business Management
• Manage a book of business consisting of the agency’s “key” clients, providing outstanding client service.
• Oversee renewals, coverage reviews, endorsements, and policy changes.
• Identify risks and opportunities for improved coverage or cross-sell solutions.
• Resolve client escalations promptly and professionally.
Team Leadership & Development
• Supervise and mentor commercial lines account managers and support staff.
• Provide coaching, training, and structured feedback to develop talent.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding.
• Establish workflows and service expectations for the team.
Operations & Department Growth
• Streamline and document commercial lines procedures.
• Drive retention and service excellence initiatives.
• Collaborate with producers to support new business and account transitions.
• Help shape departmental goals and metrics.
Carrier & Agency Collaboration
• Maintain strong underwriting relationships.
• Support complex submissions.
• Keep current on carrier products, appetite, and industry trends.
• Act as a technical resource for agency staff.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of commercial insurance experience in an agency environment.
• Good working knowledge of key commercial lines (GL, Property, Auto, WC, Umbrella, Cyber, D&O, etc.).
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and training staff.
• Active Property & Casualty license.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
