The Position:  This role supports areas of field Service operation within Sungrow USA related to commissioning, warranty, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the expanding installed sites in the region.   Reporting to the regional field service supervisor, this position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning support of PV inverters and ancillary equipment/ systems, usually at the customer’s site or at a staging yard/warehouse.   This position will comply with the Safety Mandate, “ZERO HARM,” to ensure safe and efficient work and operation of the facility for all personnel and equipment. Ensures that personnel and safety issues are given priority to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Implements and enforces safety management policy and procedures regarding the facility: safety information, hazard analysis, safe operations/Maintenance Training, subcontractor compliance, plant integrity, work permits, emergency planning, and response.   Duties and Responsibilities: - Own and manage daily and weekly service coordination and reporting, including technician assignments, job status, completion tracking, and open action items. - Consolidate, review, and submit field documentation (DARs, ESRs, JSAs, LOTO records, site reports, close-out packages) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and contractual compliance. - Serve as the primary administrative and operational support for the Field Service Supervisor, reducing day-to-day reporting and coordination workload. - Coordinate field execution logistics including scheduling, site access, tooling, spares, and vendor/contractor support. - Act as a first-level operational escalation point for technicians and contractors regarding scope clarity, scheduling conflicts, and procedural questions. - Track Preventive Maintenance, LTSA, commissioning, and warranty activities to maintain schedule adherence and execution visibility. - Manage contractor field administration, including daily activity reports, JSA submissions, work validation, and support of invoice review and verification. - Support field safety and compliance by ensuring required permits, JSAs, and LOTO documentation are prepared, reviewed, and archived; serve as safety second as required. - Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of string and central solar inverters and/or BESS systems, including PCS, batteries, and ancillary equipment, as needed. - Assist with investigation of plant issues (grid faults, inverter/PCS issues, utility transients; for BESS: SOC checks, module/component troubleshooting, hardware replacement, software updates). - Review technician’s work quality, troubleshooting narratives, and documentation; provide feedback and escalate trends to the Field Service Supervisor. - Coordinate with engineering, logistics, project management, and service leadership to support effective service delivery. - Maintain organized and timely submission of all service records in accordance with Sungrow, customer, and EPC requirements.  Education or Desired License and Certificates: - Associate’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college, or 3 years’ experience in renewable energy management  - Renewable industry experience is desired - Power Electronics experience is desired - OSHA 30 certificate within 12 months of date of hire - NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire  Competencies - Provides expert technical guidance to all field staff and other departments as required  - Supervises and trains Tech 1,2 - Consults on changes and improvements to safety practices  - May serve as the Incident Emergency Response Coordinator or equivalent.  - Lead workplace safety practices - Lead Job Hazard Analysis and conduct level-appropriate Job Hazard Analysis  - Designated as Authorized Person for LOTO - Leads regular safety meetings / toolbox talks if onsite - Delivers site-specific orientation as needed if onsite - May conduct compliance inspections and audits of safety equipment - May perform root cause analysis and executes a solution for common problems.  - Contributes feedback on quality and content of training For BESS - Expert at ESS-specific LOTO for multiple source systems - Deep SME level understanding of operations and maintenance activities regarding HVAC - Lead SOC balancing, Module replacement, charging, Capacity, and RTE test independently. - Identifies and documents deficiencies or malfunctions in fire suppression and detection systems, explosion control and prevention systems  Minimum Requirements: - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint - Motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving abilities. - A ‘completer-finisher’ taking accountability for ideas from inception to delivery in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm the success. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts. - 7 plus years of overall experience in a technical field or equivalent college degree - 4 years of experience in solar inverters or BESS or equivalent college or vocational training - Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required. - Must be able to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the ductions of the job - Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) - OSHA, NFPA70A, Electrical Safety - Experience and/or certification with MV transformers a plus  Travel - Up to 25% Work Location and Status: - Full-time, Remote - No visa/legal sponsorship Compensation: - Compensation commensurate with experience - Competitive benefits package and employee programs - Strong personal and company growth opportunities    For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $65,000 - $110,000 This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
