About the position
We are seeking a motivated GIS professional with 2–5 years of full-time experience to join our growing GIS & Technology team. The GIS Analyst II plays a key role in developing, managing, and quality-controlling geospatial data and applications that support environmental, engineering, planning, and asset management initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who has progressed beyond entry-level production mapping and is ready to take ownership of datasets, workflows, and technical problem-solving in a collaborative, client-focused consulting environment. The position follows a hybrid work schedule, with the expectation to work from the office a minimum of three days per week to support team collaboration, project coordination, and client service.
Responsibilities
• Design, create, maintain, and integrate geospatial datasets and metadata across multiple concurrent projects.
• Process and analyze raster and vector data to support engineers, environmental scientists, and planners.
• Perform spatial analysis and data interpretation to support decision-making and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure proper projection management, topology integrity, and data standardization.
• Develop and maintain GIS applications using Esri platforms and web-based tools.
• Support field data collection workflows using ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.
• Contribute to development of GIS-based tools that support asset lifecycle tracking and reporting.
• Document workflows, SOPs, and user guidance materials.
• Conduct QA/QC of geodatabases, maps, reports, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical, scalable solutions.
• Coordinate GIS data across desktop, web, and mobile environments.
• Provide internal technical support and promote best practices in GIS implementation.
• Prepare technical reports, graphics, map figures, and data summaries.
• Develop cartographically sound map products for public and agency use.
• Support client deliverables with clear, accurate, and professional documentation.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• A minimum of two years’ full-time professional GIS experience that includes experience in the preparation of GIS products (maps, data, documents) for state or local government or utilities, using Esri GIS software.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with Esri software, including Arc Pro, Arc Map, ArcGIS Online, Survey 123, and Field Maps for ArcGIS.
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with cartography, projections and coordinate systems, georeferencing, topology, and digitization best practices.
• Beginner knowledge and experience with Enterprise, Experience Builder, Story Maps, Model Builder, Python, and Arcade.
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with MD iMap and other publicly available data sources.
• Ability to develop compliant metadata and support data conversion processes.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, Teams).
• Strong verbal, organizational, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously and in an organized fashion.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams in a consulting environment and meeting production deadlines.

• Experience supporting enterprise GIS or asset management systems.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
