Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney – California (Remote)

A growing national insurance defense practice is seeking Insurance Defense Litigation Attorneys across junior, mid-level, senior, and partner levels to join its California team. We are open to candidates ranging from recently barred associates through experienced senior litigators and partner-level hires. This role can be fully remote within California or tied to the San Diego or Walnut Creek offices. The practice focuses on: • Trucking and transportation litigation • Premises liability defense • General liability defense • Catastrophic injury defense We are moving efficiently and can take candidates from initial conversation to decision within approximately two weeks. Responsibilities • Independently manage a defense litigation docket from intake through resolution • Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and legal memoranda • Take and defend depositions • Appear at hearings and contribute meaningfully to trial preparation • Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel • Participate in case strategy and evaluation discussions Qualifications • J.D. from an accredited law school • California Bar admission required • 1-10+ years of post-bar litigation experience • Insurance defense experience required for senior-level candidates • Trucking or transportation exposure required for senior-level candidates • Deposition experience required • First-chair trial experience is a plus • Comfort managing files with limited supervision • Strong writing and motion practice skills Compensation • Base salary range: $125,000 – $225,000 plus performance-based bonus structure. • Compensation calibrated to experience level and productivity.
