Onboarding Specialist-Human Resources

The Onboarding Specialist performs work to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office, focusing on recruitment and retention functions, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience for new hires. Responsibilities - Provides project and task support to the HR Manager in the areas of recruiting and HRIS - Assists in recruiting activities as assigned - Conducts background checks for all employees, interns and contracted staff as assigned - Coordinates and conducts new hire orientation - Screens on-line recruiting database for applicants and provides information about candidates to hiring managers for review - Conducts applicant communications regarding application status, reference checks, pre-employment testing, etc. as assigned - Audits HR information and data as assigned to ensure data integrity as applicable - Scans, organizes, and converts paper-based personnel records into an electronic filing system, ensuring accurate indexing, proper categorization, and compliance with record retention and confidentiality standards - Runs monthly audits reports to update and maintain HRIS records and conducts self-audit reports to help assure data integrity and file completeness - Maintains an understanding of the clinic’s organizational structure as well as knowledge of personnel policies and procedures and federal and state laws regarding employment practices - Prepares reports and works on special projects as assigned - Represents the Clinic at external job fairs - Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture Skills - BA/BS degree in a related field is required plus some progressively responsible work experience - Technical proficiency and troubleshooting abilities with HRIS, MS Office and ATS applications - Strong interpersonal skills - Excellent written/verbal communication skills - Ability to work independently Benefits - Comprehensive medical and prescription insurance through Centivo - Comprehensive dental and vision insurance through Cigna - Access to wellness programs to support your physical and mental health - Company-paid life and AD&D insurance - 403(b) Plan, with contributions from the company - Education Reimbursement Program - Training and development opportunities, including supervision towards licensure - National Health Service Corps (NHSC) loan repayment programs - Productivity incentive to recognize your hard work and dedication - Reimbursed for licensure/certification expenses - 15 vacation days per year to explore and recharge - 8 sick days per year for your well-being - 2 personal days per year for your personal needs - 2 floating holidays per year to celebrate what matters to you - 9 paid company holidays to spend with loved ones - Free and confidential counseling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Company Overview - Wheeler provides comprehensive solutions that address complex health issues, providing individuals, families and communities with accessible, innovative care that encourages health, recovery and growth at all stages of life.
