WordPress Developer
$30-$55/hr
Remote
Part-time (potential for up to 40 hours/week depending on client needs)
1099 Contract or W-2
The Role (This Is a Doer Role)
We’re looking for a strong WordPress Web Developer who can build, fix, optimize, and deliver. This is a hands-on execution role for someone who enjoys being in the work—not managing people, not climbing a ladder.
You should be comfortable owning builds end-to-end, jumping into issues without hesitation, and delivering websites that are:
• Visually polished
• Technically sound
• SEO-friendly
• Fast, stable, and conversion-ready
No offshore candidates or agencies.Preference for Colorado-based, open to U.S.-based candidates.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
• Building new WordPress websites and redesigns
• Maintaining, updating, and repairing existing sites (including urgent issues)
• Writing clean, well-structured, documented code
• Implementing SEO best practices during development (not as an afterthought)
• Integrating Google tools (GA4, Search Console, Tag Manager, etc.)
• Managing hosting environments, migrations, DNS, and domains
• Collaborating with designers and marketers to execute approved designs and strategies
• Communicating clearly with non-technical clients to gather requirements
• Managing multiple sites and deadlines without quality slipping
• Responding quickly when a site breaks—this matters
• This is not a typical 8am-5pm role but expected to respond to clients and address needs during standard business hours
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of web development experience
• 3+ years of WordPress-focused development
• Strong full-stack WordPress capability (themes, plugins, customization)
• Solid HTML and CSS skills
• Comfortable working server-side to support WordPress
• Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals related to site structure, performance, and content
• Working knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and related tools
• Experience with hosting platforms and DNS/zone records
• Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities
• Reliable, responsive, and accountable
• Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
Nice to Have (Not Required)
• Experience with Astra Pro, Elementor, and Formidable Forms
• eCommerce, ticketing, or payment system experience
• Performance optimization and page speed tuning
• Strong design instincts and attention to visual detail
What This Is Not
• Not a leadership or management role
• Not a strategy-only role
• Not a “handholding” environment
• Not a place for slow executors
This role is for someone who likes producing great work and moving on to the next build.
What We Need From You
• Resume (cover letter optional)
• Portfolio or examples of recent WordPress work
• Must be U.S.-based and authorized to work in the United States
Why Work With CGM?
• Clear expectations
• Clean builds
• Respect for craftsmanship
• Flexibility without chaos
• Work that matters and ships
If you’re a WordPress developer who performs, delivers, and takes pride in the work, we want to talk!
