[Remote] Healthcare Transformation Expert/Strategist

Perficient is a global AI-first consultancy seeking a Healthcare Transformation Expert/Strategist to join their Healthcare and Life Science team. This role involves advising clients on value-based care and population health while providing strategic and tactical support across various healthcare domains. Responsibilities • Help payers and providers design and refine value-based and population health programs (ACOs, bundles, shared savings, capitation) that balance financial performance and quality outcomes • Translate regulatory and market changes into clear implications and options for clients • Partner with account and sales teams to shape proposals, respond to RFPs, and represent SME expertise in pursuit client meetings and oral presentations at the executive level as needed • Contribute to scoping, solution narratives, and estimates for engagements • Serve as the domain lead on client projects, ensuring scope, approach, and deliverables align client needs and industry best practices • Work with project managers and analytics leads to prioritize use cases and guide recommendations • Define the key questions, metrics, and segmentation needed to evaluate performance (e.g., cost, utilization, quality, risk) • Interpret outputs from analytics teams (claims, EHR, population health platforms, etc.) and convert them into actionable guidance for business and clinical leaders • Maintain working knowledge of major federal and state programs and regulations affecting value-based care/population health (e.g., CMS programs, MACRA/MIPS/APMs, Medicare Advantage, basic Stark/Anti-Kickback considerations) • Partner with internal or client compliance/legal teams to ensure recommendations are implementable and appropriately reviewed • Work with clinical leaders, finance, operations, IT, and population health teams to align strategies and support practical implementation • Help teams design realistic workflows, governance, and operating models for value-based and population health initiatives • Develop client-facing presentations, offerings, playbooks, and training sessions on value-based care, population health topics and related topics • Contribute to internal or external white papers, webinars, and conference content Skills • 8–12+ years of experience in one or more of: healthcare consulting, payer or provider strategy, population health management, or value-based care program leadership • Demonstrated success in leading strategic initiatives and supporting sales/RFP efforts • Demonstrated experience leading or materially contributing to at least one of the following: Launch or scaling of a value-based contract or program; Population health or care management initiative with measurable outcomes; Provider engagement or performance improvement program tied to value-based incentives • Deep understanding of value-based care concepts, payment models, contract design, and population health strategies, with hands-on experience implementing or improving such programs • Experience working with claims and/or clinical data outputs and population health or analytics platforms, in partnership with technical teams (you guide, they build) • Comfort interpreting dashboards and analyses (e.g., cost/utilization trends, risk segments, quality metrics) and shaping recommendations • Working knowledge of key healthcare regulatory and policy topics affecting value-based arrangements, with the ability to know when to bring in legal/compliance specialists • Possesses a strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation, support strategic initiatives, and enable data-driven decision-making • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex programs and analytics in simple, executive-ready language • Strategic and structured thinker, comfortable framing problems, options, and trade-offs • Credible presence with senior payer and provider leaders; able to influence and build consensus • Collaborative, low-ego style, able to partner with project managers, data teams, clinicians, and compliance/legal • Comfortable working in an evolving environment and balancing multiple clients or initiatives • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, technology or related fields • Expectation for some travel and local-office on-site may be required (depending on location & requirements) • Experience working with both payer and provider stakeholders is highly desirable; deep expertise in at least one side is required • Hands-on experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or SQL is a plus but not required for day-to-day work • Master's degree in healthcare, business, technology or related fields Company Overview • Perficient is an IT consulting firm that helps companies adapt their systems to third party software products that use internet.
