About the Role Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will be the go-to expert for all functional areas of HR, providing exceptional support to the daily operations of the HR department and fostering a positive employment experience for staff. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, from talent acquisition and benefits administration to employee engagement and compliance. Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition: Represent Internet2 in the candidate market, source diverse candidates, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate the hiring process. Develop employment offers, maintain status reports, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Onboarding and Offboarding: Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires, coordinate with hiring managers, and maintain up-to-date materials for new hire and benefits orientation. Establish and maintain a communication plan between HR, supervisors, and new or existing employees. HRIS (ADP): Serve as an expert in the ADP HRIS/Payroll system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness, creating required reports, and identifying opportunities for process automation and improvement. Benefits Administration: Assist with administering Internet2's benefits programs, including health and welfare programs and retirement plans. Ensure accurate and timely enrollment and disenrollment processes, answer employee questions, and audit invoices. Policies, Procedures, and Compliance: Help maintain applicable and updated policies, ensure compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations, and conduct audits to ensure adherence to compliance requirements. Learning and Development: Support the development and implementation of training programs, including maintaining and monitoring contracted Learning Management Systems and training programs. Identify training needs, research and recommend training courses, and create usage reports. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Initiatives: Support Internet2's DEIB strategic plan and initiatives, execute activities such as DEIB training and policy updates, and create reports for tracking and metrics. Affirmative Action Plan (AAP): Assist with maintaining Internet2's AAP, collaborate with consultants and HR team members to complete annual actions, and register the plan with the Federal Government. Performance Management: Support the implementation and maintenance of the Performance Management System, initiate annual performance reviews, and assist supervisors with goal setting, career development planning, and performance improvement plans. Employee Relations: Respond to HR department emails, address employee questions and concerns, and collaborate with HR leadership to foster a positive work environment. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, industrial relations, or a related field. 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience, with a proven track record in recruitment, onboarding, HRIS, benefits administration, and employee relations. Exceptional HRIS and Microsoft Office 365 skills, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels. Strong work ethic, demonstrated by a commitment to timeliness, responsiveness, and meeting deadlines. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify issues, and recommend solutions. Ability to work autonomously and support remote workers across the US, prioritizing multiple tasks and maintaining productivity. Preferred Skills HR-related master's degree and/or professional HR Certification (PHR, SHRM-CP). ADP Workforce Now experience. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and VLOOKUP. Familiarity with DocuSign, Box, Salesforce, and/or Concur cloud-based systems. Leadership and coaching skills. Project Management skills and/or certification. Understanding of the higher education community, non-profit, member-driven, or federal agency environment.
