Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Smarter Technologies is seeking Patient Access Specialists to work collaboratively with health organizations and doctor offices. The role involves scheduling patient appointments and providing advanced patient support over the phone, while ensuring a positive experience for every patient.
Responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of calls a day using a multi-line phone. (80+ calls/day)
- Schedule appointments for multiple clinical sites according to client-specific protocols
- Gather & input patient demographic and insurance information into the practice management system
- Report complex clinical issues to the appropriate supervisor/client partner
- Document call activity, outcomes, and other notes as needed in the client system
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the goals and objectives of the department
- Assist callers and navigate them to the appropriate resources
- Must meet all attendance and performance standards
Skills
- 1 year of experience in healthcare patient service
- 1 year of experience handling a high volume of inbound calls
- Experience using an EMR and scheduling software
- Excellent communication skills over the phone
- Strong Internet Speed & access to router via Ethernet Cord (Minimum speed: 20mbps Download & 6mbps Upload)
- Call Center experience
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of attention to detail
