Valencia College is seeking a Full-Time fully remote Research Analyst, State and Federal Reporting to join their Institutional Research team. The role involves supporting the collection, analysis, validation, and submission of institutional data to meet state and federal reporting requirements while ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conducts independent research and maintains data quality
- Provides routine and customized reports and data for auditors as well as complies with state and federal requirements
- Supports the collection, analysis, validation, and submission of institutional data to meet state and federal reporting requirements
- Collaborates with internal departments to explain complex data findings in clear, actionable ways
- Prepares reports, dashboards, analyzes data for visualizations and presentations that communicate data clearly and effectively
- Manages and queries databases, identifying data issues, and shaping data for statistical and compliance purposes
- Reviews internal data requests, supports audits, and proactively investigates potential data anomalies that could impact students or institutional reporting
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions
- Knowledge higher education principles and operations, with particular emphasis on state and federal reporting requirements
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications and proficiency in SAS, SQL and other data manipulation programming languages
- Ability to analyze institutional and reporting needs and assemble and interpret meaningful data
- Knowledge in Student Information Systems
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments, organize work, make decisions, and function independently
- Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally, orally, and in writing
- Ability to perform statistical and/or quantitative analyses
- Experience in a position involving computer-based information analysis
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience working in higher education
- Educational Research, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
