[Remote] Technical Curriculum Developer (Advanced Manufacturing)

They are seeking a Technical Curriculum Developer to design, develop, and maintain training solutions for skilled trades in Advanced Manufacturing, focusing on creating high-quality learning modules and technical documentation. Responsibilities - Build interactive digital learning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise) and Google Workspace that are fully integrated into the Canvas LMS - Develop comprehensive instructor manuals, detailed lesson plans, facilitation guides, and learner workbooks that provide clear, step-by-step instructions for complex technical tasks using Google Workspace Apps - Create technical diagrams, multimedia learning aids (videos, animations), and interactive demonstrations for complex systems to help learners visualize 'unseen' processes like electricity and fluid flow - Design practical laboratory exercises, diagnostic tests, and performance-based assessments for electrical and mechanical systems, complete with rigorous safety documentation - Assist in translating technical competencies into modular, progressive skill-building sequences, moving from foundational theory to advanced industrial troubleshooting - Proactively synthesize feedback from learners, instructors, and field SMEs to identify pain points and drive rapid curriculum iteration - Manage the update cycle for existing modules: adding, updating, or removing content based on changing industry standards and market signals - Maintain meticulous version control and technical documentation for all training materials to ensure site-to-site consistency across national programs - Develop robust instructor onboarding materials and resource libraries, including technical reference sheets and troubleshooting guides for trainers - Assist with the creation of program descriptions and technical marketing materials for recruitment and external partnership engagement Skills - 1-3 years of technical instructional design experience - 1-3 years of working in or with electrical or electromechanical roles in industrial environments - Strong technical background; able to grasp and convey highly technical subject matter - Ability to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom or an in-person training environment - Strong communication skills - A demonstrable understanding of Electrical systems, Instrumentation, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic and troubleshooting - Hands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Climate & Thermal Management: Industrial HVAC, Chillers, and Cooling Towers - Hands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Fluid & Hydronic Systems: Pumping systems (VFD-controlled), heat exchangers, hydronic piping loops, and water treatment/filtration systems - Hands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Material Handling: Industrial conveyor systems, sorters, and motor-driven rollers - Hands-on experience or deep technical familiarity with Facility Infrastructure: Diesel generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and basic pneumatic/hydraulic controls - 1-3 years of experience working in or consulting for Advanced Manufacturing environments with skilled tradespersons - 1–3 years of experience in instructional design or technical training content creation - Associate-level use of Articulate 360 and Canvas LMS - High proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) - Exceptional written communication skills with a proven ability to simplify expert-level technical jargon into teachable, structured content - A solid understanding of industrial safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) - Professional certifications in maintenance-related disciplines (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, or Industrial Safety) - Experience with virtual labs, AR/VR simulations, or SCORM/xAPI content development - Familiarity with competency-based education (CBE) and national credentialing frameworks Company Overview - Per Scholas is proud to celebrate 30 years of fostering economic mobility by giving individuals from diverse backgrounds access to high-growth tech careers.
