Job Title: RHEL 8 Linux Systems Administrator
Location-Remote
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Linux Systems Administrator with hands-on experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8). The role involves managing, maintaining, and supporting Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain RHEL 8 servers in physical and virtual environments
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and kernel updates
• Manage users, groups, permissions, and access controls
• Troubleshoot system issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks
• Configure and manage network services (DNS, NFS, SSH, FTP, etc.)
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures
• Ensure system security through hardening, firewall configuration, and SELinux policies
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or Python
• Work with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, etc.)
• Maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator
• Strong hands-on experience with RHEL 8 / Linux administration
• Proficiency in Linux command line and shell scripting (Bash)
• Experience with package management tools (YUM/DNF)
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools (top, vmstat, iostat, etc.)
• Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting
• Understanding of filesystem management (LVM, RAID)
• Experience with system logs and debugging (journalctl, log files)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
