The Department
The Professional Services unit serves our enterprise clients by addressing their most urgent and high-value business challenges at pace. By leveraging internal expertise, ‘sweating’ our data assets beyond residual value analytics, and deepening engagement with enterprise clients decisively, the Professional Services unit will unlock new revenue streams, strengthen client relationships, and position JDP as a trusted advisor in the automotive intelligence space. Its analysts and experts provide scalable automotive market intelligence at the highest level of service and quality, initially to the OEM/ Fleet & Finance sectors. There are three main commercial contributions that Professional Services provides: (1) the established CTM business helps optimise residual value performance to sell more cars more profitably; (2) Valuation & Forecast Experts provide expert support to interpret our data effectively for maximum impact across clients’ organizations; (3) Expert Analytics provide solutions in the space of automotive market intelligence – as subscription revenue and/ or as recurring consulting projects.
The Role
Analyse residual value (RV) trends and create RV forecasts in the context of CTM and consulting projects in European markets. Furthermore, develop and improve data set up, data analytics and visualising interfaces for international customer facing products (mainly CTM & Consulting) as well as internal solutions. An important part of this role is also to create new data driven approaches and solutions for internal and external questions on the automotive market and to deliver profound, robust and reliable output.
Responsibilities
RV-Analytics:
- Analyse and evaluate historical and current market (RV) trends. Create RV forecasts for the major European markets as part of CTM analyses.
- Reconcile and agree resulting forecasts in the competitive environment with the market observation from the editorial teams in each country.
- Support our Consulting and Expert teams with Analysis around the latest hot used car trends and provide this analysis via punchy visualisations and PowerPoint Slides
Data-Analytics
- Create insights and statistical models by conceptualisation and conduction of advanced statistical analyses using R, Python or comparable languages in the context of consulting- and internal projects as well
- Maintenance and redesign of existing Tableau dashboards for external customers
- Deliver reliable and robust output in both analytical results and visualisation tools
- Support the Professional Services Team in optimising processes with new data driven an automated solutions
General responsibilities:
- Present and explain project results in front of customers and third parties
- Attend clients’ vehicle launch events
- Research the market to ensure our knowledge and databases are up to date
- Respond to ad hoc-demands from customers related to our data and RVs
- Continuously optimising RV CTM processes
- Coordinate CTM studies on the RV side to ensure the project is delivered smoothly and on time
The Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with a university degree in a relevant field (e.g., data science, statistics/mathematics, business administration, economics) or equivalent educational or on-the-job training. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of the European automotive fleet and residual value business, excellent English skills (oral and written; additional languages are a plus), and profound knowledge of statistical, analytical, and/or machine learning methods, with experience in R or Python. Experience using Tableau to translate data into sophisticated, user-facing interfaces, a solid understanding of data management and SQL, as well as advanced VBA knowledge is advantageous. We are looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong interpersonal and team skills, and the ability to tackle problems and issues effectively.
The position is fully remote, so you’ll need to be self-motivated, highly organised, and comfortable working from home.
