PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for leading and supporting the delivery of Lumeo’s regional portfolio of hospital, provincial, and Health Information System (HIS) projects, ensuring alignment with Lumeo’s mission, strategic priorities, and operational plans. Working collaboratively with the Lumeo PMO, partner organizations, clinical and business units, and IT teams, the Senior Project Manager oversees all aspects of project execution, including scope and deliverable definition, resource planning, communications, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and integrated change management across multiple organizations.
In addition to delivering complex projects, the Senior Project Manager contributes to Lumeo’s portfolio planning and prioritization, advises on appropriate project resourcing and skill mix, and manages risks and dependencies across the broader project portfolio. The role supports the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide project management methodologies, governance structures, and reporting standards, while maintaining up to date industry knowledge and certifications. The Senior Project Manager fosters strong regional relationships, participates in or leads governance committees, and is fully accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects, reporting to the PMO Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE:
Organizational Leadership:
- Supports the Lumeo PMO strategic direction, objectives and plans to enable the mission, vision, values, regional strategy and annual corporate plans
- Understands multiple departmental, operational and procedural staffing mix and dynamics inside and outside the organization
- Interfaces with all levels of the Lumeo organization along with regional committees, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
- Promotes PMO service offerings internally and externally
- Advises on the appropriate resourcing and skill mix required for program and project execution
- Operationalizes leading project management practices and new methodologies to improve PMO performance
- Participate in development of Project Management materials, templates, training and communication for Lumeo;

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Requires completion of University degree or equivalent
- University degree of equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Leading large, complex HIS or enterprise clinical/business system projects within healthcare or regional multi organization environments.
- Project planning, defining effective project scope and approaches, estimating, scheduling, measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting, to lead projects or segments of projects;
- Demonstrated history of managing cross functional and multi-disciplinary project teams, including clinical, technical, operational, and vendor participants.
- Team building and leadership to engage project teams, senior leaders, governance groups and external partners to ensure collaboration and focus on achieving project deliverables;
- Defining and documenting project requirements in collaboration with stakeholders; preparing clear proposals, presentations, and project documentation; and ensuring transparent, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle;

- Provides coaching, training and support to enhance project management capability and improve project delivery within Lumeo
Resource Management / Relationships:
- Must have superior influencing skills for managing project members who don’t directly report to them
- Provides leadership to project teams, external service providers and vendors; plans, coordinates and assigns work, establishes priorities, monitors performance and provides project management expertise;
- Runs concurrent projects with different staff providing direction, coaching and monitoring of those staff
- Works with leaders and subject matter experts to assign project resources, validate task durations, and coordinate the timely engagement of technical, clinical, and business contributors to support project milestones.
- Works with functional managers to provide input into performance agreements and support strategies that promote strong performance and development within the project team.
- Coordinates /Participates in procurement process to acquire and negotiate goods and services for projects
- Incorporates resource forecasts and effort estimates into project budgets; monitors resource related expenditures and reports variances to the PMO Manager and project sponsors
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Requires completion of University degree or equivalent
- University degree of equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Leading large, complex HIS or enterprise clinical/business system projects within healthcare or regional multi organization environments.
- Project planning, defining effective project scope and approaches, estimating, scheduling, measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting, to lead projects or segments of projects;
- Demonstrated history of managing cross functional and multi-disciplinary project teams, including clinical, technical, operational, and vendor participants.
- Team building and leadership to engage project teams, senior leaders, governance groups and external partners to ensure collaboration and focus on achieving project deliverables;
- Defining and documenting project requirements in collaboration with stakeholders; preparing clear proposals, presentations, and project documentation; and ensuring transparent, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle;
- Proactively identifies, assesses, and manages project risks, issues, and interdependence; leads mitigation planning and escalation processes; and provides clear guidance on recommended actions to maintain project alignment and progress.
- Experience navigating organizational change within complex healthcare settings, including supporting readiness, adoption, and stakeholder engagement.
- Procurement and vendor engagement processes including evaluating proposals and supporting contract administration for technology or service providers.
- Use of software tools to manage project tracking and reporting.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation as certified by the Project Management Institute (or equivalent)
- 5-7 years of considerable project position related experience required (Preferred)
- Project planning and management theory, methods, techniques, standards and best practices related to all phases of a project life cycle as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK);
- Leadership skills to guide the work of project staff and teams.
- Communication, consultation, negotiation and mediation skills.
- Persuasion, advisory, and relationship management skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Change management principles and techniques to facilitate business process change.
- Resource management approaches and strategies, including financial management to develop and manage project budgets.
- Project & Portfolio Management Tools and applicable software (i.e. Microsoft Project).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation as certified by the Project Management Institute (or equivalent) (Preferred)
- Confinement to a workstation (sitting for extended periods of time)
- Prolonged standing
- Lifting / carrying light objects (less than 5kg/11lb)
- Virtual meetings – attentive listening and note-taking as an attendee or presenting/demonstrating via share-screen while keeping meeting minutes as a host
- Continuous focus on computer screens for electronic document/presentation creation or review, note-taking, maintenance of spreadsheets, etc
