Job Summary Senior-level Technical Assistance (TA) provider with subject-matter expertise in topics related to the Department of Education (ED) National Evaluation and Technical Assistance Center for the Education of Neglected, Delinquent, or At-risk Children and Youth (NDTAC) and its guiding legislation, Title-I, Part D. Must have demonstrated experience in providing stakeholder technical assistance and an active desire to partner with ED to develop actionable plans to support the NDTAC community. Experience in related areas of justice-involved youth, youth experiencing homelessness, youth in foster care, and other child welfare areas preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges facing the NDTAC community, including populations served and NDTAC State Coordinators (SCs). • Collaborate with federal, state, and local partners to identify best practices to support NDTAC SCs on a myriad of issues and/or access to resources to support their success. • Lead the development of and facilitate webinars, communities of practice, annual conferences sessions, topical calls, or other live engagements on topics of interest to NDTAC SCs and engage external experts who may speak to challenges and best practices in these events. • Lead and participate in the orientation of newly seated SCs. • Provide direct TA to SCs who submit inquiries for support through NDTAC’s TA tracking system (Jira), or requests received via email or the program Hotline. Response preparation may require collaboration with the ED Program Office (PO). • Research and prepare written resources for publication on topics relevant to the NDTAC community. • Identify regional, state, and national conferences at which to present or represent NDTAC, with and without the participation of the ED PO. • In partnership with the ED PO, prepare monitoring protocols, participate in state monitoring visits, summarize monitoring documentation and activity during visits, draft monitoring reports for ED. • Performs other duties as assigned to meet evolving company requirements.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Hard skills • General Microsoft Office experience. • Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel experience. • Fluency or demonstrated adaptability in using online registration or work-progress platforms (e.g., Jira, SharePoint). • Demonstrated ability to cross-reference compatible tasks to identify similarities in tasks to reduce redundancies and improve efficiencies in delivering customer service. • Demonstrated expertise interpreting and brainstorming the implementation of program requirements, including policy/statute/regulatory requirements. • Event planning for hybrid or remote meetings, particularly WebEx/Zoom experience to create meetings, present PowerPoints, record, and transcribe. • Demonstrated business development experience, including mapping opportunities to build program portfolio. Soft skills • Selfless approach to supporting team and project needs; patience to identify best practices to complete many interrelated tasks; adaptability to pivot in approach in response to customer need; innovative and able to establish best practices with little direction. • Initiative to research and suggest efficient ways of completing project tasks; establish workflow infrastructure that reflects a routinized process for organizing and executing work that will benefit the team. • Demonstrated experience supporting federal clients at Education, Justice. • Comprehensive understanding of project work resulting in proactive engagement with team that addresses project requirements and anticipates customer need. • Responsiveness to inquiries from field; must prepare knowledgeable, constructive, and professional responses when addressing TA with stakeholders and when engaging with customer. Education and Experience • Masters degree in Education Policy or Public Policy in related content field • Ph.D. or Ed.D in Education Policy or Public Policy in related content field • 10+ years professional experience required. Physical Demands • Regularly required to sit and operate a computer and other office equipment for extended periods. • Frequently required to use hands and fingers for typing, handling, or feeling objects, tools, or controls. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, primarily due to prolonged computer use. • Regularly required to communicate verbally and listen effectively, primarily for virtual meetings and phone calls. • Occasionally may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (such as a laptop, files, or small office supplies). • Must be able to work effectively in a self-provided home office environment, which includes the ability to maintain concentration and productivity for sustained periods. • Travel to present at state and National conferences required.
