Join us and accept the challenge of creating a better tomorrow Job Description:We're looking for an experienced VMware Architect/Subject Matter Expert to join our organization in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will serve as a technical leader and strategic advisor, designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise virtualization solutions. You will be responsible for architecting complex infrastructure environments, providing expert guidance on VMware technologies, and ensuring the highest standards of system performance, security, and reliability across our organization. You will design, architect and implement enterprise‑grade virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere, vCenter, and associated technologies, ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational requirements. Define and maintain holistic virtualization strategies encompassing capacity planning, performance optimisation, high availability, and disaster recovery, supporting business continuity and long‑term growth. You will provide technical leadership and expert guidance to infrastructure teams on VMware best practices, configuration standards, and implementation methodologies. Perform detailed assessments of existing infrastructure environments to identify opportunities for improvement, driving enhancements in operational efficiency, security posture, and cost‑effectiveness through targeted recommendations and architectural refinements. You will lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of advanced VMware technologies including vSAN, NSX, Horizon, and the vRealize Suite, ensuring successful adoption and integration within enterprise environments. Troubleshoot complex virtualization issues, resolving performance bottlenecks and system failures with minimal disruption while maintaining platform stability and reliability. On a regular basis, you will work collaboratively with network, storage, and security teams to deliver fully integrated infrastructure solutions that meet enterprise architecture standards. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational runbooks, and training materials to support consistent platform management and knowledge sharing. Stay current with VMware product updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies to maintain subject‑matter expertise, while mentoring junior technical staff and fostering professional development across the team. Qualifications:- Similar experience in a prior role under large scale project environment - Significant years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies in enterprise environments - Advanced proficiency with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and hypervisor management - Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing virtualization architectures for large-scale data centers - Strong knowledge of VMware advanced technologies such as vSAN, NSX, Horizon, and vRealize Suite - Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of virtualized environments - Solid understanding of storage technologies, networking, and security as they relate to virtualization - Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail - VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification or equivalent industry-recognized credential - Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly - Experience working in organized, detail-oriented environments with a focus on efficiency and reliability - Preferred: Experience with hybrid cloud solutions, containerization, or infrastructure-as-code methodologies - Preferred: Knowledge of compliance and security frameworks relevant to virtualized environments Additional Information: Why join us:  NCS Australia is where you can feel at home, nurturing your talents and skills as we make tomorrow together, one day at a time.
