Job Details Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Job Purpose and Reporting Structure: Do you love working with cattle and farmers but are tired of being on call and working nights and weekends? Armor Animal Health has the veterinary job for you! While working with the Armor Animal Health veterinary team, this Contracted Veterinarian will assist the producer to reach the full genetic potential of their herds and help them attain their animal health and production goals. The veterinarian will do this via a consultative approach by actively engaging clients in discussions about their operation, assisting in problem solving by performing investigations, identifying problems and developing solutions with the producers. The vet will promote the value of diagnostics and animal health products as appropriate while partnering with Sales Representatives to discuss products and services to augment therapy recommendations. The vet will routinely work with sales reps to further develop their technical knowledge and model communication techniques with producers. Additional duties include conducting on-farm training such as proper down cow handling, on-farm milk culturing, tubing a calf, IV catheterization, collecting lab samples, etc. Requires a DVM degree, current veterinary license in North Dakota, and Federal Accreditation. Education and/or Experience: Requires a DVM Degree. Additional degrees and training a plus. Practice experience is critical to perform duties, as is the ability to work independently. Must have an overall understanding of the dairy and beef industries; knowledge of animal production, nutrition, and products used in successful operations. 4+ years of production animal experience required. Salary: Subcontractors are paid per VCPR farm at a competitive rate, plus a Federal Mileage reimbursement. Equipment Provided: iPad. iPhone available as needed. Other Personnel: Armor Animal Health has a collaborative team of 11 veterinarians, plus a full panel of pharmacists and regulatory support team. Practice Strengths: Prevention is the focus of the Armor Animal Health veterinary team.
